Luke Martineau

b.1970

Luke Martineau trained at the Heatherley School of Fine Art in Chelsea, having taken a First in English and Modern Languages at Magdalen College, Oxford.

Luke has been painting professionally for 25 years, and he divides his time between landscape and portrait work. His travels with easel and brushes have taken him from the banks of the river Barle on Exmoor to Cambodia and Hong Kong, from Venice to New York, and to India, where in 2010 he accompanied The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall as official Tour Artist.

Luke has established a reputation in the UK both as portrait and a landscape painter, and he especially enjoys the informality of family conversation pieces. He has work in many private and public collections, including Eton Collage, the Middle Temple and the Royal Collection. He is represented by Panter and Hall in Pall Mall.

Since 2014 Luke has been President of The Chelsea Art Society.

Luke had a joint Anniversary show with his wife Bella Martineau in Chelsea last September, where they showed 20 still life painting each, one for each year of married life so far.

He is spending lockdown at home in Shepherds Bush, working on a series of still life, interiors and garden painting.
His most recent show, ‘Brighter Days’, opened in May at Panter and Hall, Pall Mall.
